They say the pen is mightier than the sword, and for good reason

Journaling is simple, writing down everything running in your head.

This habit has been around for years now, but right now it is currently having a moment in the limelight. From Famous authors to Businessheads, everyone is talking about the life-changing benefits of journaling and you should know.

The beauty of journaling is that there’s no right or wrong way to do it. It can have structure or areas you want to talk about or just a space for you to pour it all out.

It definitely isn’t easy to start journaling and keep up the habit. Spearing 10 minutes everyday to write down the journal can feel daunting and many have failed it, but ask the ones who have reaped its benefits.

Journaling has now been digitised as well but the acting of writing with a pen on paper is definitely more beneficial.

Let me tell you why you should journal:

Our memories are stored in our brain and body as chemical signatures. As you write, an incredible chemical reaction takes place in your brain. Those memories, made up of thoughts and feelings, are transformed in real-time into words. Words and sentences that express, process, and translate what you are feeling and thinking. Our joy, sadness, disappointments, triumphs, needs, dreams, and desires.

The act of writing lets you take control of what's in your head. It allows us to realise what kind of things we allow in our minds, and how we can create good, healthy boundaries for ourselves and others. It also helps us organise our minds, sharpen our senses, and understand how we think! As we write, we become sharper, more present, and more mindful about what is going on around us.

We become more aware of who we are, and of our place in the world. Journaling allows you to meet and get to know your true self.

With digital journaling, you are always bombarded with social and personal content. This stops you from concentrating and focusing all your thoughts on yourself. You are always focused around you and never within yourself.

Use journaling as a tool for personal growth, self-discovery, relaxation, or visualization. There’s no right or wrong way to journal. Make it your own.
